a living hope
1 peter 1:3-5

welcome to my little corner of the internet! i started this blog in hopes of sharing my testimony, mission journey, and the truths of the Bible with everyone I can! one of my favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 20:9:
But if I say, "I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name," his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot"
I have a strong desire to share with others a Living Hope, my Savior, Jesus Christ. another one of my favorite verses, I Peter 1:3-5, says:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
isn't this exciting?! we have HOPE because of what Jesus did for us- dying on the cross and bearing God's wrath for OUR sin! we rely on this alone for eternal security and salvation.
our school in Campion is named "Maison de Lesperance". this is Creole for "House of Hope". these sweet people are living in extreme poverty. many don't know where their next meal will come from, others get evicted from their home because they can't afford the rent of $30/YEAR. that's right, $2.50/month. despite their circumstances, our friends in Campion choose to put their hope in Jesus, their Living Hope.
